Arnold Electric needed a Load Test for their 35 Ton Bridge Crane, but found that all of the local and national crane companies they called were not 'up to the challenge'. They widened their search and eventually came across someone able to help them out - Hoist & Crane Repair.
We quickly sent our Pennsylvania-based crews to the facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to determine the best way to work with their unique situation and to perform the Load Test.
The first challenge we came across was getting load test weights into the facility, as they had to be taken across a bridge that had a maximum capacity of far less than the Bridge Crane. These weight could not rest on the floor of the facility due to the low-capacity access panels, and they had to be short enough to travel over the large equipment below the crane.
HCR designed and made special engineered equipment to support the weights inside the facility, which was narrow and not strong enough for the heavy load. We used counter weights for a mobile crane as our test load, as they were the perfect size and shape for the facility's restrictions.
We take pride in the fact that while many crane companies did not want to take the time to come up with something creative, we stepped up and figured out the best solution to their problem. We hope to continue this positive relationship with them for all of their future projects.
